It seems like the Arlington Renegades had a strong defensive performance in their Week 8 game against the Orlando Guardians, winning 18-16. Orlando quarterback Quinten Dormady had five turnovers, while Arlington’s defense capitalized on those turnovers with 15 points. The game was close at halftime, but Orlando couldn’t seem to get out of their own way in the second half. Arlington’s defense scored more touchdowns than their offense did, and their quarterback Luis Perez led the team to a game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. Orlando had a chance to win the game with a walk-off field goal, but Arlington’s defense stripped the ball from Dormady to end their season. Arlington is now 2-0 against Orlando but 2-4 against everyone else, and they will finish their season with games against D.C. and Houston.
On Orlando’s next possession, Dormady completed a 25-yard pass to Williams to move the ball to midfield. The Guardians were unable to gain any more yards, however, and were forced to punt.
Arlington then started on their own 20-yard line and Perez completed a 27-yard pass to Arconado to get into Orlando territory. The Renegades were unable to capitalize on the field position, however, and missed a 44-yard field goal attempt.
Orlando took over on their own 34-yard line but were quickly forced to punt after a three-and-out. Arlington took over on their own 20-yard line and Perez completed a 22-yard pass to Arconado to get into Orlando territory. The Renegades were unable to get any closer, however, and missed another field goal attempt, this time from 45 yards out.
The first half ended with the score tied 3-3.
Arlington took over on their own 12-yard line and Luis Perez found Jerrod Heard for a 31-yard gain on the first play of the drive. The Renegades continued to move the ball downfield and Perez connected with tight end Sean Price for a 9-yard touchdown pass. The extra point attempt was good, making the score 19-3 for Arlington.
Orlando started their next drive on their own 25-yard line and Quinten Dormady connected with Jalen Rowe for a 21-yard gain on the first play. However, the drive stalled and Orlando was forced to punt.
Arlington took over on their own 20-yard line and Luis Perez led the Renegades downfield with a series of short passes. On 2nd and 6 from the Orlando 25, Perez threw an interception to Orlando’s Marquez Sanford, who returned it 49 yards to the Arlington 31-yard line.
The Guardians capitalized on the turnover and Dormady threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Rannell Hall. The extra point attempt was no good, making the score 19-9 for Arlington.
With less than two minutes left in the game, Orlando attempted an onside kick but Arlington recovered. Luis Perez kneeled to run out the clock and the game ended with a final score of 19-9 in favor of the Arlington Renegades.

Orlando was able to respond with a touchdown of their own, but again failed to convert on the extra point attempt, leaving the score at 15-12. Arlington added another field goal, making the score 18-12, but Orlando was able to score another touchdown to bring the score to 18-16.
In the closing minutes of the game, Orlando had a chance to drive down the field and take the lead, but a fumble by Quinten Dormady ended their hopes. Arlington was able to run out the clock and secure the victory. Overall, it was a closely contested game with both teams showing flashes of brilliance but ultimately struggling to find consistency on offense.
