What a way to end the series and build momentum going into an 11 game visitor stretch that won’t brig our team back home until May 9th against the Midland RoundHounds at 6:05 pm.Frisco RoughRiders won their baseball game against the Arkansas Travelers with a score of 6-3. In the third inning, the RoughRiders were trailing 2-0, but Dustin Harris hit a triple to tie the score, and Diosbel Arias hit a home run on the next pitch to give Frisco a 4-2 lead. Frisco’s pitchers struck out 19 batters, with Grant Wolfram entering the game in the third inning to limit damage and going 2.2 innings without giving up a run or hit. Arkansas’ starting pitcher Prelander Berroa took the loss after conceding five runs on six hits with nine strikeouts in four and two-thirds innings pitched. Alex Speas entered the game in the ninth inning for the RoughRiders’ first save opportunity of the season and left the tying run at the plate in a scoreless inning, despite walking two runners. Justin Slaten struck out five batters in the two prior innings, setting the table for Speas. Chris Seise hit a single in the fifth inning to earn an RBI, and Frisco won its first Sunday home game of the season while wearing throwback uniforms to celebrate the 20th anniversary of RoughRiders baseball. Seise had an excellent series, going 5-for-15 with two doubles, two home runs, and four RBIs.
