All-time series: Phoenix leads 48–32
Wings Looking to Regroup
Dallas (1-9) enters Wednesday’s contest aiming to snap a multi-game skid and earn its first road win of the season. In Sunday’s 81–65 loss to the Minnesota Lynx, the Wings showed grit by trimming a 17-point deficit to just one heading into the final quarter before running out of gas.
Star guard Arike Ogunbowale continues to lead the charge offensively, dropping 26 points in the loss. Forward Maddy Siegrist was a bright spot, recording her first career double-double with 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
However, Dallas remains shorthanded:
-
Ty Harris (left knee) – Out / Not With Team
-
Teaira McCowan – Out / National Team Obligation
Mercury Riding the Middle
Phoenix (6-4) is coming off an 89–77 defeat to the Seattle Storm on Saturday. Former Wings forward Satou Sabally led the Mercury with 22 points in that outing, continuing to make her presence felt in the desert. Phoenix will look to bounce back at home, where they’ve been a tough out in 2025.
What to Watch
-
Can the Wings limit Sabally’s impact and control the paint without McCowan?
-
Will Ogunbowale’s scoring surge continue, or will the Mercury key in on her defensively?
-
Can Dallas maintain consistency through all four quarters?
With Commissioner’s Cup points and momentum on the line, both teams will be looking to reset after recent losses — but only one can emerge from the midweek showdown with a much-needed win.
