Our Frisco RoughRiders baseball team and their recent games. In the first game against the Amarillo Sod Poodles, the Riders won 5-1, thanks to Jax Biggers’ grand slam and strong pitching from Tekoah Roby and Grant Wolfram. The Riders’ bullpen, which has been performing well, especially Grant Wolfram. A player to watch out for is Owen White who threw the first quality start for the Riders this season.

The wins did not come easy and had some upsetting losses to the Amarillo Sod Poodles, where they twice led by six runs but eventually lost the game. This was the first time since May 2007 that the Riders lost a game leading by at least six runs. The team has been putting the bat on the ball and clearing the runners when the bases are loaded, their league-high 27 RBIs, and four grand slams.

Our Riders’ have been strong on defense as well, with just seven errors through 18 games, and their lead in walks and team OBP. The Riders’ run differential of +32 through 18 games is the first in the Texas League, despite being third in the South Division. Evan Carter’s impressive performance, reaching safely in 14 of his 15 games this season, batting .333 with four home runs, 17 walks, 18 RBIs, and three stolen bases.
