Our Frisco RoughRiders lost to the Amarillo Sod Poodles 11-4 on Saturday night. Amarillo started strong, scoring four runs in the first inning, including a three-run homer from Tim Tawa. Frisco tried to mount a comeback, with Jax Biggers hitting a two-run home run in the fourth inning and Luisangel Acuña hitting a two-run single in the fifth inning. However, Amarillo pulled away with one run in the fifth inning, four in the seventh inning, and another in the eighth inning. Despite the loss, Frisco’s Luisangel Acuña has been on fire this season, hitting .333 through the first 20 games. Frisco’s bullpen has also been strong, with Grant Wolfram throwing six scoreless outings this season. Frisco leads Double-A in walks and is second in OBP, while also having the fewest errors in the minors. The RoughRiders have a +31 run differential through 20 games, which is first in the Texas League.
