On Sunday, April 30th, our Frisco RoughRiders defeated the Amarillo Sod Poodles 12-7 in a game at HODGETOWN. Frisco scored in every inning except for two, jumping out to an early lead with two runs scored in the first inning due to an error by Amarillo’s center fielder Neyfy Castillo. Frisco continued to extend their lead throughout the game with a series of runs, but Amarillo fought back with a few runs of their own. In the end, Frisco scored 12 runs on 13 hits and had a league-high 32 RBIs with the bases loaded. Luisangel Acuña was highlighted as a standout player for the RoughRiders, hitting .319 and ranking second in the Texas League in hits, eighth in doubles, and seventh in total bases. The RoughRiders bullpen was also highlighted, particularly Grant Wolfram, who has thrown six scoreless outings this season. Frisco’s defense was also impressive, committing just nine errors through 21 games and leading Minor League Baseball with a .988 fielding percentage. The RoughRiders have a +36 run differential through 21 games, which is first in the Texas League and third in Double-A.
