On Thursday night, our Frisco RoughRiders lost 11-6 to the Midland RockHounds at Momentum Bank Ballpark. Frisco started the game well, scoring three runs in the first inning, but Midland responded by scoring five runs and adding three more in the second inning. Frisco managed to add two more runs in the seventh and ninth innings, but it wasn’t enough to win the game. Evan Carter had an outstanding game, going 3-for-3 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch, and he was responsible for starting the scoring in the first inning. Frisco has only hit one home run in their last three games and 21 in total this season, which is the ninth in the Texas League. However, they have been hitting well with runners in scoring position, with a .264/.366/.432/.798 slashline, including nine home runs and 112 RBIs. Luisangel Acuña has been performing exceptionally well, hitting .324 (35-for-108)/.373/.444/.817 and ranking second in the Texas League in hits, tied for fourth in doubles, and sixth in total bases. The team’s defense has been excellent, committing just 12 errors through 24 games, which is the second-fewest in the minor leagues, and they have had a league-high 32 RBIs with the bases loaded this season. The team has also been doing well in terms of getting walks, with a total of 141 walks this season, which is third among non-Triple-A teams. Evan Carter has been outstanding this season, leading the Double-A in walks (24) and OBP (.495).
