The Frisco RoughRiders played a baseball game against the Arkansas Travelers on Saturday and lost 3-1. The game started with each team scoring a run in the first inning, with Arkansas hitting a solo home run and Frisco responding with an RBI single by Thomas Saggese. The game remained tied until the sixth inning, when Frisco gave up a go-ahead run after surrendering a pair of bloop singles. Arkansas’ pitcher A.J. Puckett pitched the fifth and sixth innings and got the win, while Juan Then pitched a clean ninth inning for the save. Frisco now trails the series three games to two, with a record of 7-7 on the season. Frisco’s run differential of plus-28 is tied for the top spot in the Double-A Central.
Home runs on Sunday to lead Frisco to a 6-2 victory over the Arkansas Travelers at Riders Field. The win evened up the series at three games apiece. Arias hit a solo homer in the second inning and a two-run homer in the fourth, giving Frisco a 3-0 lead. Arkansas scored a run in the fifth and another in the sixth to cut the lead to 3-2, but Frisco added three more runs in the eighth inning to seal the victory. Frisco’s starting pitcher, Ronny Henriquez, pitched five innings and gave up one run, while striking out six batters. The RoughRiders bullpen held Arkansas scoreless for the final four innings. With the win, Frisco moves into a three-way tie for first place in the Texas League South Division.
