Our Texas Rangers put on a thrilling game on Wednesday night but ended up losing to the Atlanta Braves. Eddie Rosario and Ronald Acuña Jr. hit early home runs to break the Rangers’ scoreless streak, and Orlando Arcia delivered the game-winning solo homer in the ninth inning.

The Braves took two out of three games in the series after being swept by the Toronto Blue Jays in their previous series. The offense was strong throughout the series, with five two-run homers in the first game and two more homers in the second game.

Adolis García continued his impressive season for the Rangers, hitting two solo home runs to increase his MLB-leading RBI total to 46.

The Braves tied the game at 5-5 in the eighth inning when Acuña walked, stole a base, and Ozzie Albies hit an RBI single. Austin Riley then doubled to drive in Acuña and set the stage for Arcia’s heroics in the ninth.

Nick Anderson pitched a scoreless eighth inning for the Braves, and Raisel Iglesias closed out the game with a perfect ninth to earn his second save.

The Rangers’ starter Nathan Eovaldi had a strong start, extending his career-best scoreless streak to 29 2/3 innings. However, the Braves were able to break through with four consecutive hits in the second inning, including Rosario’s home run.

Spencer Strider started for the Braves and struck out seven batters over five innings, allowing four runs. He entered the game with a streak of at least eight strikeouts in 12 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the majors.

In his first game back from injury, Corey Seager had a sacrifice fly for the Rangers. Seager had missed 31 games due to a left hamstring strain.

Notable defensive play came from the Braves’ Michael Harris, who made an impressive running catch with his back to the plate and his right arm fully extended over his head in deep center field.

The win for the Braves prevented consecutive series losses for the first time this season and provided momentum heading into an off day.
