Our Texas Rangers defeated the New York Yankees 2-0. Nathan Eovaldi pitched a three-hitter for his first big league nine-inning shutout, striking out a season-high eight and walking none against his former team. Ezequiel Duran hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning to provide the Rangers with their only runs. The Yankees were shut out for the first time this season and have scored two runs or fewer in five of their last seven games. Yankees captain Aaron Judge missed his second straight game with a mild hip strain, joining Giancarlo Stanton, Josh Donaldson, and Harrison Bader on the sidelines. In his Yankees debut, Jake Bauers crashed headfirst into the left-field wall in a full sprint while catching Adolis GarcÃa’s drive and left with a bruised right knee, but X-rays were negative. Rookie Jhony Brito allowed two runs and four hits in five innings for the Yankees. The game was played before a record crowd of 40,027 at Globe Life Field, the home of the Texas Rangers.
