Our Texas Rangers’ one-sided victory over the Oakland Athletics on Sunday was won by the throwing arm of Adolis García. García’s double in the eighth inning ignited an eight-run rally, which included his second grand slam of the season. He finished the game with three hits and five RBIs, bringing his season total to 10 home runs and a major-league-leading 42 RBIs.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, stating that they were determined to secure the win. He also mentioned that the Rangers are a tough team to beat when they play their game. The Rangers have scored 10 or more runs in a major-league-leading 10 games this season.

On the other hand, the Athletics continued to struggle, dropping to a major-league-worst record of 9-33. If they maintain this pace, they would finish with 35 wins and 127 losses, which would be the most losses in the majors since the 1899 Cleveland Spiders. The A’s have also allowed the most runs in the league, with 316, 71 more than any other team.

The game drew a crowd of 7,793 at the Coliseum, concluding a four-game series that totaled 25,547 in attendance and the second largest attendance. The A’s have had low attendance numbers, with fewer than 10,000 fans in 13 of their 21 home games, including eight of their last 10 since announcing plans to build a new ballpark in Las Vegas.

Robbie Grossman had a strong performance for the Rangers, hitting a home run for the second consecutive day and contributing three hits. The win completed a successful 7-3 road trip for Texas, their best since 2016.

Texas took an early lead with Grossman’s two-run homer in the first inning and García’s RBI single in the third. Shea Langeliers’ two-run homer in the seventh brought the A’s within one run. However, in the eighth inning, García’s double and subsequent errors by the A’s allowed the Rangers to score eight runs, including García’s grand slam.
